ODC FACULTY

ORIGIN will have access to many International Teachers. We will only work with current industry professionals who can also be amazing Judges. Most Teachers will be able to conduct multiple styles in classes as well as Tech/Trick. The aim is to enable the dancer to feel safe and secure in any style of dance, no matter what style they think they are limited to.

Each event will include some of the faculty below.

NEALE WHITTAKER

Neale has spent the last 15 years developing his own unique brand of movement, fusing contemporary, commercial and street style techniques. This unique style led him to choreograph and perform on hit TV programs like SYTYCD, Dancing With the Stars, Australia’s Got Talent, ABC3’s Dance Academy and The ARIA’s.

In 2010 Neale and his business partner James Barry created PHLY CREW, Australia’s leading comedy dance company, representing Australia at HipHop International and World of Dance, they are well known in Sydney for creating productions like The Phlycrew Show, PhlyCrew 2.0, Phly Crew Live and featured as grand finalist on Australia’s Got Talent.

Neale’s talent for teaching and choreography has lead him to instruct workshops all over the world including, New Zealand, Singapore and Switzerland. This lead Neale to becoming one of School Spectacular’s Hip Hop Choreographers.

He continued his working relationship with many choreographers and has performed/choreographed in many unique experiences including those for; BMW in Beijing, Katy Perry, ARIAS performance with Tones and I, Rembrandt Live choreographed by Kelley Abbey and featured soloist on Australia’s The Voice for Jennifer Hudson.

MADDISON CLAY

Current director of the all new MVMT Dance Complex on the Gold Coast! Born and raised in Queensland, Australia, Maddison Clay is a NYC-based dancer, teacher, and choreographer. Her professional career began at an early age when she was a featured dancer on a children’s television show.

Throughout her youth, she had the opportunity to perform both internationally and domestically, including throughout the USA and across Australia. She received her formative training under Shannon Atkins at Dance Technique, followed by The Ailey School at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Since relocating to New York Maddison has performed pieces by numerous esteemed choreographers and has worked with multiple contemporary companies, including ‘CoreDance Contemporary’ and ‘Animus Movement’ where she is currently the East Coast rehearsal director.

Maddison’s choreography has been showcased at many venues throughout the US including, New York Live Arts, Triskelion Arts and Ballet Arts. Maddison’s teaching has taken her around the world, having taught masterclasses throughout Australia, the USA, and the UK. She works with the ‘Star Dance Alliance’ judging, setting choreography and teaching on convention. She is currently on faculty at Broadway Dance Center Children and Teen’s Program, WILD Dance Intensive and multiple studios in the tri-state area.

JOEL MURPHY

Direct from Dynamite Studios Australia! Joel Murphy, a remarkable talent in the world of dance and choreography, embarked on his captivating dance journey at the tender age of 8 years old. This journey would eventually take him to stages and screens across the globe, captivating audiences with his unique and mesmerising choreography.

Throughout his early years, Joel received comprehensive training in a wide range of dance genres. However, it was around the age of 12 that he unearthed his profound love for contemporary dance and the art of choreography. This revelation would become the cornerstone of his exceptional career. Following his high school graduation, Joel pursued his passion by enrolling in and completing a Certificate IV in Dance at Dynamite Studios.
Joel’s talent and dedication propelled him onto international stages and screens. Notable among his accomplishments are his roles as a core dancer in major films: “Dora and the Lost City of Gold”, “Seriously Red”, and the highly anticipated Baz Luhrmann feature film, “Elvis,” where he took on the role of Austin Butler’s movement double. These experiences have solidified his presence in the global entertainment industry.

In addition to his cinematic achievements, Joel has lent his dance talents as a backup dancer for several acclaimed Australian artists, including Samantha Jade, Courtney Act, Paulini Curuenavuli, Mitch Tambo, and Alfie Arcuri. His contributions as a dancer to their performances have left an indelible mark on the Australian music scene.
Joel Murphy’s rise to prominence has been marked not only by his extraordinary dance performances but also by his unique and innovative choreography style. This distinctive approach to dance has garnered him recognition and acclaim in the industry.

ELLE DIMOS

Born and raised in Australia, Elle has always been passionate about dance. Now Living in Los Angeles, California, on an Artist Visa, pursuing her dreams as a professional dancer. Her career has taken a significant leap forward as she tours the United States, assisting the esteemed faculty at the Radix Dance Convention for their 2023/2024 season. â€‹

In the U.S. Elle has had the privilege of assisting Brian Friedman in person as the Australian assistant for the MSA Education Online intensive. This was followed by opportunities to assist him during workshops and camps, including preparing the Opening Number for the U.S. finale of So You Think You Can Dance. Her time in Los Angeles has also allowed her to work with Tessandra Chavez, performing in choreography for Derek Hough's Symphony of Dance U.S. Tour, and to dance for Robbie Blue in his Congress VIII Shows.

Currently,  immersed in the excitement of touring with Radix, relishing the experience of visiting different states and cities each week, meeting new dancers, and learning from the exceptional faculty.

WINSTON SKY

Winston Sky is one of Australia’s top male working dancers in the industry. Beginning his journey in HipHop with three world titles, five national titles and three solo titles under his belt. Winston has gone onto working in major productions such as Disney Marvel Shang-Chi and Carmen the movie produced by renowned choreographer and director Benjamin Millepied. Winston has expert experience backup dancing for major international icons such as Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora and Tones & I just to name a few.
 

Recently Winston has had the pleasure of joining the cast of Paris Cav’s & Marko Panzic’s ‘ICON’ the prestigious contemporary show that toured sold out shows across Australia. 

Currently a mainstay at TJS  DANCE ACADEMY in Wollongong!
